N interesting Austin. 25-cwt. three-way van has
been placed in service .by Motor Repairers and lares, Ltd., 76 High Street, Stoke Newington, andon, N.16. Designed by Mr. F. A. Catt, a rector,. the bodywork was built by Taylors inchley), Ltd., 21 Victoria Road, New Barnet, Herts. Built round the standard Austin body frame, the etal body incorporates at the rear a steel framework ted to the chassis frame members. This has the ,o-fold advantage of both strengthening and abilizing the body. A metal shelf at waist level :tends along both sides of the interior to the doors, !hind the driver's cab.
Connecting rods and other small parts • for repair at be carriedon these shelves. A pivoted 5-cwt. )ist is fitted on the near side at the rear for lifting ;avy objects, such as engines. The method of advertising used on e sides of the vehicle is an interesting parture from normal procedure. With aroon as the main colour, a cream .ip along the waist is decorated with
enlarged cut-out photographs of the various types of vehicle parts in which the company specialize. The photographs, taken by Mr. Catt himself, are effectively stuck on to the body by a specially strong mucilage. " Mr. Repair Specialist," the company's well-known trade mark, appears on the exterior of the rear doors.
Certain parts which the company manufacture under licence are fixed on to the inside of the rear door on the off side, so that when the door is opened the valuable advertising space which it offers is not wasted.
A radio telephone installation in the driver's cab is connected to the company's offices at Stoke Newington and to their depot at Streatham in South
London.
Eventually, the company will operate te six similar vans. Five will be Austins and the other a Morris l0-cwt. model
