TRANSPORT minister William Rodgers has urged the Prices Commission to carry out an inquiry into the running of motorway service stations.
The initiative for the inquiry came in a letter written to Prices Secretary Roy Hattersley expressing the opinion that there is a need to review the whole system of motorway service stations.
News of the letter follows a demand in the House of Commons last week for an investigation into motorway trading after a spate of complaints of overcharging and poor facilities.
