• In his report on the past year's work of Lhe RHA express carriers' group, the .:'hairman. Mr H. A. Russett, expressed the 3(:incern of the group at the practice of ertain customers who under-declare the weight of parcels and similar consignments n order to keep down the transport charge. As a consequence he said, there was a risk hat a vehicle tarrying several consignments
this kind would be loaded beyond the egal limit. Mr Russett also reported that "in view of Britain's entry into the Common Market, members would benefit from a continued interest in European affairs. It has therefore been agreed that the group should hold a mini-conference on the first day of the Association's annual conference to be held at Eastbourne from October 23 to 25 and to invite hauliers from other European countries to send representatives for discussions",
