I JANUARY the Secretary of ate for Transport told the ssenger transport industry at it would be sensible to ye a six-month "running-in" nod for EEC drivers' hours.
This six-month period is w over, so any operator not mplying with the first stage the phasing-in of EEC ;ulations 43/69could well be trouble. A maximum of 60 urs driving in one week and 3 hours driving in any two eks is now in force.

From July 1, all psv drivers on occasional services must keep proper records to EEC standards. These can he in the form of a tachograph disc or an individual driver's control book.
Drivers and conductors on regular services must carry a service timetable and a copy of their duty schedule. Operators must keep a duty roster and time-table showing the base, name and date of birth of each crew member. The roster should also show current duties, duties for the next week and for the previous week.
