LICENCE for a coach service from Pl. Birmingham to Karachi was granted on . Monday by the West Midland Traffic Commissioners to Mr. Mohammed Amin Aziz. . The railways, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., and Stoekland Garage, Ltd., Withdrew their objections when Mr. Aziz agreed to limit passengers to Pakistanis and Indians living in Britain who wished to visit relatives and friends in their own countries.
A 26-seat coach -carrying 20 passengers, two drivers and a driver-mechanic will be used. The return fare to Karachi will be about £140. Journeys will be made next April, May, June and July. A trial run will be undertaken in August this year.
The coach. will return empty after April's trip, but on subsequent journeys will bring back the passengers taken out the previous month.
The project was forecast in The Commercial Motor on May 10.
