LAST Sunday's rounds of the Lorry Driver of the Year competition showed that there is still a certain amount of confusion among competitors and in some cases organizers regarding the rules relating to the test in which vehicles have to reverse into a loading bay.
There should be none, as, under an amendment issued by the national organizing secretary after the Biwningham contest on May 13, vehicles in Class E(2) —those over 25 ft. long with more than two axles—are allowed up to two forward movements in manceuvring into the bay. In addition, the post near the entrance to the bay is removed to make the test the same for this class as it is for the articulated-vehicle classes.
