LARGEST numerically of the applications notified this week is a bid by M.E.M.A. (Distribution) Ltd., of Wokingham in. the South Eastern area; this company is asking to switch 20 vehicles, totalling 86 tons, from C licence to B. They are specified as mainly for fish transport for three named concerns.
Another sizeable B-licence bid is in the West Midland area, where John D. Messenger and Co. Ltd. is seeking eight car transporters, on hire. In the North Western area F. R. Mayers (Contractors) Ltd, is applying for 12 vehicles on A licence (seven to be switched from contract A) to carry solid fuels and building and road-making materials.
