The Perrins motor company party last week at which Geoff Moore, the PR director of Vauxhall Motors, handed over 60 Bedfords to Tizer Ltd in Southampton, was something of a special occasion. In addition to the usual speeches and refreshments the speakers quenched their thirst not with water, not with wine, but with Tizer, of course. But another incident marked the occasion as unique when Mr Bill Boucher, md of Perrins, announced that a special coin had been minted for the occasion; every guest received one before leaving. The coin is appropriately called a "Decisionometer" and is the same size as a 10p piece. It is designed as an aid to executives who have to make on-the-spot major decisions but is simple to use. For the straightforward "Should I or shouldn't I" type of question you merely take the coin from your pocket and the problem is solved. On the one side is the advice "Do it," on the other side "To hell with it".
