ADAPTA CHARTS LTD
Nortinvay House, London, N20.
THIS company's wall-planning-board system consists essentially of a peg-board panel and a removable card-index unit. The system is flexible and one of the applications put forward by the company is for vehicle maintenance.
Details of the vehicle are contained in the card-index unit and the line of holes in the peg-board panel line up with the visible portion of the card allocated to that vehicle. This system has been adapted to show when vehicle maintenance and testing is due-as well as to reveal other important dates in a vehicle's life.
There are two standard-size charts provided for fleets of 25 and 50 vehicles althougn larger fleets can be accommodated with boards tailored to suit exact requirements. The Adapta charts measure 48in. by 22in. and 48in. by 39in. respectively and the scale used allows for 52 weeks' charting. Various coloured signals are available and these can be used to indicate such things as pre-test preparation inspection, annual test application date, annual-test date, road fund licence renewal date, major overhaul periods and intermediate services, etc.
"Flow-line" facilities are provided, a line joining up the sequence of signals being extended to the last item completed. A date line is progressed across the board and any signals to the left of it that are not connected by the flowline immediately show up that something has been missed.
