THE Commer 7-tonner with I3-ft. 6-in, wheelbase, which was introduced at the Scottish Show, extends the range of types employing the maker's under-floor engine. For this chassis; Commer Cars, Ltd., Luton, has evolved a light-alloy drop-sided body 18 ft. long
and 6 ft, 10 ins, wide, with sides 1 ft. 6 ins, deep, which keeps the unladen weight of the complete vehicle below 3 tons.
A channel-section under, frame is employed, angle members being used to reinforce the structure: Side raves of.,, extruded section carry a'. T462in. top flange to give additional strength: Hollow extruded-section frames,' pan-i &led in alloy sheet, go to form the bodY sides, which are secured to the side raves by T-shaped hinges. The floor is also of light alloy.
