demonstration takes only a few minutes bat the journey to the demonstration could take an appreciable time. Is it necessary for me to observe the regulations about keeping driver's records?
A Section 95(1) of the Transport Act 1968
states that the part of the Act referring to driver's hours shall have effect with a view to securing the proper hours of work by persons engaged in the carriage of passengers or goods by road. Sub-section 2(a) of Section 95 states that this part of the Act applies to (i) public service vehicles and (ii) motor vehicles (other than public service vehicles) constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers.
Though your vehicles obviously fall within the description contained in (ii) you are not, presumably, engaged in the carriage of passengers by road.
Therefore, in our opinion, you need not keep records.
