Boat and Yachting, the July round-Britain race will in fact provide some interesting motor industry rivalry. As well as the twin Leylands in the Hilton boat, there are four Fairey Marine craft with twin six cylinder turbocharged Ford diesels producing a continuous rating output of 164 bhp in Sabre marine form. These four are entered as a Ford team. But there, are also twin Ford diesels-160 bhp models—in a Keith Nelson 40ft entry, and twin 3-litre V6 fuel-injected Menu-aft Fords in a Medina Yacht Co. catamaran.
Perkins, too, is likely to be featured as a power unit in several of the racing boats.
