THE vehicles committees of the Road 1 Haulage Association ant' Traders
Road Transport Association are co-operating with the Ministry of Transport and the Road Research Laboratory in arranging brake tests for articulated vehicles on similar lines to those undertaken earlier this year with rigid vehicles at the Laboratory's Crowthorne track.
It is understood that several manufacturers have offered to help by providing vehicles, including at least two built for the new gross weights; Scammell have offered a Handyman III and semi-trailer rated for 30 tons g.t.vv. and York have agreed to supply a semi-trailer for matching with an Atkinson tractive will to form a 32-ton outfit A22
