ANEW 21-seat bus, ideal for school or contract work, is now available from the Southern Light Coach Centre Ltd.. St. Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex. The complete vehicle sells for £2,220, and is claimed to be the smallest passenger vehicle actually built to normal p.s.v. requirements, as opposed to mini-buses.
Basis of the vehicle is the Bedford 3-ton goods chassis; 31 rear springs and shock absorbers are fitted and a conver sion to forward-control is undertaken in the Duple Group's Willowbrook factory, where the bodywork also is constructed. A rather utility finish is employed inside the bus, although adequate for the type of duties envisaged for the new vehicle. Seat spacing, however, is remarkably spacious for such a small vehicle (overall dimensions 18 ft. 3 in. by 7 ft. 6 in. by 8 ft. 7 in. height), and there is plenty of room to move about. F.K.M.
