ASIMPLE and easily made mechanical splice for fibre ropes has been developed by Cable Covers Ltd., who already make the Talurit wire rope mechanical splice. This new mechanical splice can be used on nylon and Terylene ropes and other ropes produced from man-made fibres. In addition, the splice can also be applied to manilla, coir, cotton and other natural fibre ropes.
Made in a matter of seconds, the strength of the Talurit splice is claimed to be 95 per cent of that of the ultimate breaking strain of the material used in the rope. Full information including the range of rope sizes which can be catered for is obtainable from Cable Covers Ltd., Talurit Division, St. Stephen's House, Westminster, London, S.W.1.
