'THREE men accused at Harlow Court i on 20 charges involving stolen lorries were on Monday sent for trial to Essex Quarter Sessions. As recorded last week, the men are James R. Cummings, Douglas Knight and William John Levine, and the charges include allegations that they conspired together to steal or receive lorries, trailers and their loads; property worth more than £20,000 is involved.
The hearing at Harlow lasted three davs, during which time 38 witnesses were called and 50 exhibits produced.
Mr. Douglas Marr, for Cummings, and Mr. David Whisker. representing Knight and Levine, said their clients would plead not guilty. and reserved their defence.
The men are to appear at Quarter Sessions on November 6, and defence certificates were granted. Cummings and Levine were released on bail, and Knight was I-man:fed in custody.
