711-IE Scottish Area of the R.H.A. 1 has had a very active month with a considerable programme of public meetings, as well as administrative
meetings. Members are now being allocated to functional groups, according to their particular interests.
The timber contractors' group has met and prepared a memorandum, which will be presented to the M.O.W.T. The cement hauliers' report is now being studied in the area. Milk hauliers are now taking part in an investigation of costs of haulage, and this will be completed, it is believed. by August or September. If the result should prove a payment to be necessary it will be retrospective:
The Greenock andDistrict Haulage Contractors', Association has agreed to wind itself up and transfer. funds and assets to the Greenock-Gourock-Port Glasgow section of the West of Scotland Sub-area of R.H.A.
