HALLETT, Silbermann Ltd., acted as trans port contractors and holding company of a number of subsidiaries until September 30. On October 1, with the agreement of the Board of Trade, "Brent Group of Companies Ltd." came into being by change of name to take over the holding or parent company position formerly occupied by Hallett, Silbermann Ltd.
Hallett, Silbermann Ltd., continues to trade in its haulage and allied activities, as do all the subsidiary companies of what is now known as Brent Group of Companies Ltd. Their locations and activities:—
Hallett Silbermann Ltd.—At Clarendon Road and Holywell Estate, Watford—hauliers of machinery, abnormal loads and general goods and terminal services.
A. R. Foskett (Haulage) Ltd.—Holywell Estate, Watford—contract hire and long-term charter of vehicles without drivers.
Hallett, Silbermann (Engineers) Ltd.— Brent Works, Hornchurch, Essex—heavy lifting contractors, erecting and dismantling all types of machinery and plant, storing heavy equipment and handling other allied engineering and electrical services.
Hallett, Silbermann (Storage and Distribution) Ltd.—Brent Depot, Feltham, Middlesex— collection and delivery of parcels, smalls, also storage and redistribution of manufacturers' goods in London and within approximately 10( miles radius. Daily services.
Metroplant Ltd.—Brent Works, Hornchurch Essex—plant hirers of building equipment an fork lift trucks for industrial purposes.
Morden Park Insurance Brokers Ltd.— Cricklewood, London NW2.—insurance brokers specializing in goods in transit and motor vehicle and plant insurance.
Styring Transport Ltd.—Brent Works, Wickersley, Nr. Rotherham, Yorkshire—hauliers of machinery, general goods and building materials.
T. Hallett Ltd.—Brent Works, Hornchurch. Essex—hauliers of machinery, general goods and long loads.
All the transport companies undertake international work to Europe and to Ireland.
Brent Group of Companies Ltd. supplies central services for accounting, costing and statistics, legal and insurance from the grour head office at Cricklewood, London, NW2
The Group's strength of rolling stock exceeds 100 vehicles and trailers on A licence in addition to other equipment which may be hired through the plant hire or charter companies.
The directors of the Brent Group, are the same as those of Hallett, Silbermann Ltd., with the addition of Mr. W. J. Seaman, who has been the group's chief accountant for a number of years.
