awarded £1,428 damages by Lord Hunter in the court of session last week for injuries suffered in an accident in the Corporation's central depot in August, 1961. The driver, Mr. George S. Fern, of Dundee, had sued the Corporation for £3,000.
Fern said he was walking backwards in the depot with his hands in the air to guide a bus into position when he

slipped on a patch of oil and fell, fracturing his right forearm and injuring his elbow. The Corporation denied blame for the accident.
Lord Hunter said the patch of oil had been formed as a result of a drip from a vehicle. The risk of oil patches appearing on the floor was obvious and he could see no particular difficulty about having that part of the floor attended to immediately.
