States' international coach excursions traffic on January 1, 1968, except where restrictions are necessary to protect regular express services, is proposed in the latest submission by the E.E.C. Commission to the Council of Ministers. Before this date, transit services and those which run loaded one way but return empty. are to be freed from border-crossing restrictions; this is scheduled For January 1 next year. By this date, too, common regulations are to be drawn up for regular express services between the Six, while common regulations for shuttle services are to be enacted by January 1, 1968.
The Commission wishes to see interstate co-ordination of regular bordercrossing services.
Severance Handshake WHEN Mr. Cyril Oakham, general manager of Lancashire United Transport Ltd. for the past ten years, resigned last month he nevertheless remained a member of the board and will continue to hold this office until th.: annual general meeting which takes place in a fortnight's time.
