Meanwhile, at a conference of municipal bus inspectors to be held at York this month, the question will be raised of Tees-side bus inspectors who claim that they must forfeit bonuses when promoted from bus crew level. The inspectors contend that they should receive bonuses at present paid to platform staff with more than six months' service.
Discussions have been going on for some time at national level regarding the payment of bonuses to other members of municipal transport undertakings, but the inspectors say the progress has been too slow.
