THE Government's fuel policy was criticized by Mr. Geoffrey Hirst, Conservative M.P. for Shipley, Yorks, at a meeting in his constituency last week.
Mr. Hirst said: "I accept the need for some system of rationing—but what a system! I would be more critical if it were not for the belief that the position will ease in February, and that most of the injustices—especially on C-licence holders—will be met before then."
On prices he could not be so 'charitable, said Mr. Hirst. He thought the increased tax on petrol and dery was a "great and most foolish blunder."
