Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Norgren Works, Shipston-on-Stour, Warwicks.

AIR-POWERED sanding machines having '"oscillatory and orbital actions are manufactured by this company. There are four models, and all are extremely light, scaling from only 3 lb. to 7+ lb. Two of the models, 1000A and 1000D, employ reciprocating movement at the rate of 2,500 movements per minute and have a stroke of 0.4375 in. The smaller model incorporates an orbital action on a 0.1875 in. diameter at a rate of 16,000 cycles per min.

There are two machines in this range, Models 0S700 and 0S800; both are extremely light, weighing 4.5 lb. and 3 lb. respectively. Because these machines do not employ electrical current they are eminently suitable for wet sanding operations; in fact, the straight-line 1000A and the orbital 08700 can be supplied with water application attachments.

For use in premises where air pressure is not available two orbital models are provided, electrically-powered and bearing the identification 0E-500 and 0E-900. These machines incorporate induction-type motors, having no commu tators or brushes, therefore having fewer parts to maintain.

With an effective pad size of 7 in. by 3.875 in., the OE 500 weighs 5.5 lb. against 8.75 lb. for the 0E-900, which has an effective pad size of 8.25 in. by 4.25 in. The prices of these two machines are £22 and £29 18s. 6d. respectively.
