The West Yorkshire Road Car Co. Ltd., Yorkshire Traction Co. Ltd., East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd. and East Midland Motor Services Ltd. are asking for an increase of 3t on fares over 5s. and an increase of is. on fares over £1 on services starting from Bradford, Leeds, Keighley and Harrogate to London via Birmingham, and have also asked for a surcharge on week-end travel. Between the North and Birmingham, Leicester or Stamford it is proposed to charge an extra 2s. single and 3s. return, and on all other fares an extra 3s. single and 5s. return.
Huddersfield Corporation is applying to increase scholars' contract tickets to bring them into line with a recent increase granted to Huddersfield Joint Omnibus Committee, and Wallace Arnold Tours Ltd. seeks higher fares from Skipton and Gisburn on the LeedsBlackpool route. Recently. Ribble Motor Services Ltd. was granted nermission to increase fares on this route.
