ZHOWN in the photograph above is -) the 521-ton-capacity double-droprame Dyson semi-trailer built to transtort a "flask" in which atomic fuel lements are carried immersed in water, he flask and water weighing about 50 ons while the fuel elements weigh only bout 21 tons. Used with a Foden E T U I 6 4 0 tractive unit, the trailer has keen supplied to the Central Electricity ienerating Board for the Trawsfynydd luclear power station in North Wales. The semi-trailer loading level is only ft. tin., to ensure a safely low centre
gravity. The steel platform of the lower deck has built-in brackets to locate the flask vessel and there are four adjustable screws to hold it firmly in position.
The rear bogie is a Dyson inverted rubber-mounted spring type, the springs being special heavy-duty and the twin tyres being 14.00-20 18-ply. Two-line airpressure braking is fitted, the 151 in. by 7 in. cam-type brakes having individual diaphragm chambers and slack adjusters.
