VETE regret to record the deaths of Mr. YV J. Close, Mr. J. Gough, Mr. G. Pate and Mr. S. S. Wynn.

Mr. Close, who was 47 years old, was traffic manager of the Venture Bus Co. of Consett, Co. Durham.

Mr. Gough, who was 41, was managing director of John Gough (Wellington), Ltd., haulage contractors.

Mr. Pate was a former chairman and managing director of Albion Motors. Ltd., and had spent all his professional life in the motor industry. In 1910 he became an assistant to Dr_ Blackwood Murray of the Albion Co. and was employed on experimental and development work. Ten years later he left to join D. Napier and Son, Ltd., as technical adviser and became chief engineer and a director, rejoining Albion in 1929.

Mr. Wynn, who was 75, was chairman and a director of Robert Wynn and Sons, Ltd., of Newport, Mon. He had been actively engaged in the company's business all his working life.
