THE One-for-One Pallet E change Scheme, which w launched in Kent and South Lc don in March 1979, is report to be progressing well.
It was extended to North-wr England in February last yE and the Central Council contr Ling the One-for-One scher says it has successfully reduc the traditionally high pallet lc rate in the area.
As a result, the scheme will gradually implemented in t rest of Britain. Scotland, t North-east and Yorkshire now included, and the East M lands, including East Anglia, v all come under the provisions the plan by July.
The object of the One-for-0 scheme is to establish a sti dard quality 1000mm x 1200n pallet and to achieve a one-f one exchange of pallets betwe companies. Pallets are colour orange to distinguish them frr "whites" and those in the simi GKN Chep "Blue" system.
