NEW coach chassis—the Victor VT21L—has been introduced by Albion Motors, Ltd. The model is designed primarily to suit Duple41-seat bodywork, the complete vehicle having a maximum gross vehicle weight of 9 tons, • The chassis is made in one wheelbase only-17 ft. 8 in.—and box dimensions of the Duple bodywork are 30 ft. 8.5 in, long by 8 ft. 2.5 in. wide. Power is provided by a Leyland 0.370 diesel engine, the drive being taken through an Albion GB.241 five-speed gearbox which can incorporate an overdrive sixth speed. The rear axle is available with ratios of 5.571 to 1 and 6.143 to 1.
Front brakes are 15.25 in. diameter by 4,25 in. wide, whilst the rear have the same diameter but are 5 in. wide. Braking is by a vacuum-assisted hydraulic system incorporating a 9.5-in. Hydrovac. Standard tyres are 8.25-20, 10 ply.
