TWO more models have been added to the range of Coolie trucks made by The Polymatlffc Engineering Co., Ltd., Tamworth,-Staffs. These are the Coo1i3 10 battery-operated truck and the Coolie 2500 pallet truck.
The Coolie 10 battery model has a lifting capacity of 10 cwt. A Plessey Bela hydraulic pump is employed and this gives a lifting speed of 19 ft. per minute. A heavy duty 12 v. battery is fitted as standard. It is housed in a protective container and is trolley-mounted for access for topping up and so on. A two-pin plug and lead is provided for connection to a battery charger.
Dimensions of the truck are 3-ft. 6-in. by 2-ft. 3.25-in, base and 6-ft. frame height. The fork clearance height is 4 ft. 6 in. The Coolie 10 cost 1186 ex works including the battery.
The Coolie 2500 has a lifting capacitN, of 2,500 lb. and is the first pallet truck to be made by Polymathic. The truck can be used with pallets having a ground clearance of 3.75 in. and gives an almo,t parallel lift. Operation is by a single swing lever which in the upper part of its arc raises the lifting fingers and in the lower part can be used to tow the truck. The vertical position gives automatic parking and a foot-operated lever is used to lower the fingers. Each finger has 3.5-in.-diameter twin wheels and below the operating lever there are twin 8-in.-diameter wheels.
Overall dimensions are 4-ft. 9.75-in. long by 1-ft. 9.75-in. wide. The price, ex works, is £88.
