CHARTER ROADWAYS of Preston has taken delivery of six DAF FT2800 DKTD tractive units making its entire fleet, with one exception, DAF vehicles. The company is mainly involved in chartering of vehicles and drivers to operators including B and I Line, Ferrywagon Ltd, and Eurofreight Ltd.
The DAF 2800 DKTD is a 40-ton tractive unit powered by DAF Trucks' own DKTD 11.6 litre, six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine producing 252bhp at 2200rpm with 66 lb torque at 150Orpm.
