Two new upholstery cleaners have been introduced by Holt Products Ltd., Vulcan Way, New Addington, Surrey. They are sold in 9-oz. polythene bottles.
The No. 1, which is intended for leather, leathercloth and plastics materials, costs 5s. 6d.. whilst No. 2 is suitable for woven fabrics (including carpets and moquettes) and plastic weaves, and is priced at 4s. Both are easy to use. Cleaner No. 1 is used neat, being applied with a damp sponge to the upholstery and left for Jive minutes. The dirt disappears when the surface is wiped over with a damp cloth. Cleaner No. 2 is diluted with water and worked up into a foam which is wiped over the upholstery with a sponge. This does not saturate the material, which dries in about half-anhour, when a brush or vacuum cleaner can be used to remove the dirt.
