buses for Bit'. ‘.....tningham Corporation have been placed with Transport Vehicles (Daimler), Ltd. (175 chassis). Leyland Motors. Ltd. (100 chassis), and Brush Coachworks, Ltd. (100 bodies), according to a report presented to the council.
The transport committee has further recommended the purchase of 335 buses at a cost of £1,256,0043 for delivery during 1948. Three hundred of these are required for replacements deferred during the war—there are still 302 buses in the fleet more than 10 years old— and 35 are required to substitute for trams on the Stechford route.
The transport committee states that unless some degree of staggering is introduced in the city; delays during peak traffic hours are inevitable.
