WE have set aside one of our petrol pumps for the YY exclusive use of our own commercial vehicles running on general transport work, and we have come up against a difficulty which must be known to all purchasers of petrol in bulk.
We have at the end of the month an odd number of coupons, which the Petroleum Board is unwilling to accept in exchange for an odd quantity of petrol, and it returns these coupons stating that it will deliver a load of 200 gallons, or, in multiples of 50, and that the odd coupons should be presented next month, but next month they are out of date and are refused again.
Surely it would be no trouble, if sufficient pressure were applied, for the supply depot to provide a load of petrol equivalent to the coupons returned?
This requires the attention of the whole motor trade, the road transport industry and the various associations connected with it, and we feel that suck a ridiculous xrocedure could then be overcome.
