Standard suspension is a new design— called Pillapoise—employing Aeon tripleconvolute hollow rubber springs (one at each side) with the axle located by rubber-bushed radius rods. Leaf spring suspension to the same design as on other York single-axle models and with 11-leaf springs is optional. Also standard is a light alloy roller shutter at the rear body opening, but full-height, full-width doors can be fitted as an option. Openings 3-ft. 2-in, wide with roller shutters can also be incorporated in the body sides if required.
Three axle options are listed, these having I5-in. 8-stud wheels, 16-in. 6-stud wheels or 20-in. 8-stud wheels. The 16-in. size is intended to suit Bedford or similar tractive units and, in fact, the axle uses Bedford hubs, brakes and so on. With this axle fitted, the floor height is about 3 ft. 4 in. S.A.E. fifth-wheel coupling with vertical landing gear is standard with automatic coupling an alternative.
