Lord Muirshiel to Open 'CM' Conference
I ORD MUIRSH1EL, PC, CH; CMG, is I-4 to open The Commercial Motor Fleet ManagementConference, which will tie attended by more than 250 delegates in Dunblane, Scotland, next Wednesday.
He is the former John Scott Maclay. MP. becoming the first Viscount of Kilmacolm -last year. He became an MP in 1940 and sat continuously until his elevation to the peerage: holding a number of ministerial and cabinet posts. As Mr. Maclay, he was Minister of Transport in 1951-52, was Minister of State for Colonial Affairs from 1956-57 and in January 1957 was appointed Secretary of State for Scotland, a post he held until July 1962.
As was the case with the first Fleet Management Conference sponsored by The Commercial Motor last year, the 1965 conference has for some time been sold out. Papers will be 'given at the conference by Sir Reginald Wilson, deputy chairman and managing director, Transport Holding Company, Mr. Andrew Dunn, director and general manager, Tayforth Ltd. • and Mr. E. B. H. Elsbury, president of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers. Chairman of the conference is Mr. James Amos.
