A T the inaugural meeting of the East Midland Liberal Federation, in Nottingham, a resolution was adopted declaring that the proposals of the Transport Bill " would unduly penalize an industry which has rendered distin, guished service to the nation; would result in a loss of freedom of choice to the trading and industrial community, and would inflict upon the country a less efficient transport service at an enhanced cost".
The resolution called upon the Liberal Party "to press for a public inquiry upon -this vital issue and to oppose the Transport Bill at every stage unless and until such an inquiry is conceded."
