AMENDED food hygiene regulations now be laid before Parliament will mean less cc plicated marking of food vehicles, follow representations to the Ministry of Health by TRTA. The Ministry met major food vehi operators on Monday for a complete and detai discussion of the subject.
The draft regulations formerly called for ea food vehicle to carry the name and address of I operator and also the address at which I vehicle was garaged or alternatively a ft number corresponding to a register lodged w the local authority. Now it will be sufficient I the operator's name and address to be acco partied either by the vehicle's garaging address a fleet number; no register will be required the local authority in the latter case.
The TRTA regards this as a significant el ing of the more onerous part of the regulatim and it is thought unlikely that the Ministry• make any further concessions on this point.
Another relaxation means that washi facilities will not be required on vehicles carryi uncovered foodstuffs so long as satisfacto washing facilities are available at every point call.
