AS forecast in COMMERCIAL MOTOR, November 12. 1965, Sunderland Corporation Transport intends to install public address systems in its new fleet of single-decker buses, and two of the existing Leyland Panther Cubs have now been fitted with experimental systems.
One of these is the Mini Hailer system, and the other the Smith's system as employed on the Red Arrow buses of London Transport; in each case three loudspeakers are employed. The undertaking is also considering the installation of loudspeakers on the outside of the buses to help the drivers control bus queues. This feature of the Red Arrows Was most impressive at a recent demonstration.
