WHILST he could not contemplate introducing a system of compulsory vehicle testing because of the expense entailed in setting up and manning the necessary stations, the Minister of Transport said in the House of Commons last week that he was pursuing with the motor trade the matter of an arrangement on a voluntary basis for periodic inspections for vehicle owners.
