REFUSING an application by Messrs. Frank Galloway and Sons, Shotts, to run an express service between Shafts and Glasgow, the Scottish Licensing Authority last week advised the Central S.M.T. Co., Ltd., to consider operating a limited-stop service between the two centres in the morning and evening. Objections were lodged by Central S.M.T., Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., and the Railway Executive.
Mr. J. Law, for the applicants, contended that existing facilities were inadequate, but the Authority thought it would be wrong to impose an additional service, which would abstract traffic from the present operators.
