Latest addition to the National Benzole Company's road tanker fleet is this 3,000-gal.-capacity model designed by the company's motor transport department and mounted on a Guy Warrior chassis. The tank, built by althea?! Industries (London) Ltd., is a five-compartment unit of unconventional shape and has a low centre of gravity. Instead of the usual catwalk the top of the tank, which is flat, is treated with a special roughcast paint to provide a firm foothold. The dipsticks are mounted vertically at the front of the tank, secured by spring clips. A power take-off is coupled to a Waterous pump for handling dery and gas oil and Tecalemit syndromic automatic lubrication is installed. The glass-fibre plastics cab was built by Bowyer Bros.
(Congleton) Ltd.
