THE police at King's Lynn, Norfolk. have introduced a new system under which lorries parked overnight in unofficial parking places are checked and notices are stuck on the windscreens asking that next time the drivers park in a secure place in a proper vehicle park. If drivers arc forced to park in vulnerable positions they are being asked to notify the police so that a special watch may be kept on their lorries and loads, and the police hope to get full support from all drivers. The Borough Council has under consideration plans for building a fenced heavy-vehicle park where a watchman would work in conjunction with the police, the first such park in East Anglia.
