Stand 128—Rossleigh Ltd., Edinburgh 2. Stand 129-James Gibbon (Motors) Ltd., Glasgow C4.
Stand I36—Peters Motors (Bishopton) Ltd., Bishopton, Renfrews.
A SELECTION of Land-Rovers with
a variety of equipment and body types can be seen on these three stands. There are altogether 10 exhibits, half of them on the 88 in.-wheelbase chassis and the rest on the 109 in. wheelbase. There are no examples of the Land-Rover forward-control 30-cwt. design.
A standard 88 in.-wheelbase model with canvas hood is shown by Rossleigh, together with a similar chassis fitted with a Howie snowplough blade but having a diesel engine instead of the petrol engine as in the first model. Also shown by Rossleigh is a diesel-engined 109 in.wheelbase model with hardtop. This vehicle is fitted out as a mobile workshop by Tooley Electro Mechanical and has a 3 kW. alternator.
One Land-Rover is shown partly on the stand of Rossleigh and partly on the stand of James Gibbon. This is a dual-purpose ambulance conversion by Herbert Lomas Ltd. on a 109 in.wheelbase petrol-engined chassis. Two stretchers or one stretcher and five seated patients can be accommodated. James Gibbon is also showing a 109 in.wheelbase Land-Rover with diesel engine equipped as a Tooley workshop and including a generator in its equipment. Three other exhibits by this concern have petrol engines. Two are 88 in.-wheelbase versions, one a standard model and the other fitted with a hard top, whilst the third is a 12-seat station wagon based on a 109 in.-wheelbase chassis.
Peters Motors have two Land-Rover exhibits — an 88 in.-wheelbase station wagon with petrol engine and a 109 in.wheelbase diesel-engined standard model.
