PAA NEW lightweight 10-cwt. three' wheeled trolley with automatic transmission has been announced by Whades (Sussex), Ltd., Duke Street, Littlehampton, Sussex. It is the Miniveyor and costs £92 10s.
Power is supplied by a Villiers 147 c.c. air-cooled two-stroke engine mounted over the single front wheel. The drive is taken through an automatic clutch and chain-driven epicyclic gearbox giving a final reduction of 20 to 1, there being. only one control—the throttle lever—apart from the foot and hand brakes which operate on the rear wheels only.
The tubular cage supporting the engine also carries the steering gear and offers protection against damage, besides keeping the driver's clothing out of harm's way. The front-wheel assembly may be turned through 360°, enabling the Miniveyor to be turned in its own length, or reversed by moving the steering through 180°.
In its standard form, the machine has a platform body 5 ft. 3 in. long and 2 ft. 6 in, wide. Secured in keyhole slots, the body can be removed quickly and replaced with a 4-cu.-yd. tipping body having an automatically locking tailboard. It is stated that on test 4 cu. yd. of sand was taken up a slope of 1 in 4 without difficulty.
Another useful attachment is a handoperated winch and roller ramp. The ratcheted winch is located behind the driver's seat, whilst the roller ramp clips on to the rear of the truck.
