THE first two prize-winning papers in the bicentenary competition of the Royal Society of Arts, on the subject of life in A.D. 2000, were about a scheme for rooftop roadways and a system of underground roadways for London, respectively. An award of £50 has gone to Wg. Crndr. T. R. CaveBrowne-Cave, the author of the rooftop scheme, and of £20 to Mr. C. E. H. Watson, who outlined the London plan.
