FIVE B.U.T. 96111 trolleybuses have recently entered service with their third municipal owners. Originally built, together with a sixth vehicle, for Darlington Corporation in 1949, they were sold to Doncaster Corporation when the Darlington trolleybus system was replaced by motor bus services in 1951-52. By the end of 1959 the Doncaster trolleybus fleet had been standardized on Sunbeam and Karrier vehicles and the B.U.T.s were subsequently sold to Bradford Corporation, where this model is a standard type. One vehicle was dismantled for spares but the remaining five have been fitted with new East Lancashire 66-seat . forward-entrance bodywork and have now started a further lease of life. AirOperated folding doors and fluorescent lighting are provided. Exceptionally deep windscreens are neatly incorporated into' the curvature of the front panelling.
