THE Northern Licensing Authority, Mr. J. A. T. Hanlon, said last week at Newcastle upon Tyne that he was happy that Mr. Siddle C. Cook, managing director of Siddle C. Cook, Ltd., of Consett, Co. Durham, was trying his best to comply with the regulations. Mr. Hanlon had called upon the Company to show cause why their licences should not be revoked or suspended, because of the previous conduct of the company. After Mr. Cook had gone into the circumstances of certain prosecutions against his company, Mr. Hanlon said that Mr. Cook was a responsible haulier. He granted applications by the company to operate a 40-ton trailer and two trailers of 25 tons each, -and granted all the company's special A licence conversions to A licence, which had been pending. An application by the company to operate a low-loader was refused.
